Niramaya (নিরাময়)
With the initiative of Phuleshwar Annapurna Gramin Vikas Kendra, a Health check up camp has been organized for the poor and destitute women of Howrah rural district’s Phuleshwar and Uluberia zones. Over a hundred women’s blood samples have been collected. The next day, blood report and necessary medicines are distributed. Most of the reports revealed an iron deficiency. Reputed gynaecologist Dr. Dipankar Pati and his team made the women aware of the risks of iron deficiency and how to address these issues
Through this program, the poor and destitute women and children of rural areas of Howrah, particularly Uluberia, Phuleshwar, Panchla, Basudevpur, Raghudevpur, Kalitala, are given health check ups, blood tests, medicines, medical advice etc. The women and children of these areas of West Bengal suffer greatly from blood deficiency. Therefore we organize various camps on symptoms of blood deficiency and ways to prevent it. In these camps gynaecologists give advice to women and also distribute medicines to them.
With the cooperation of NYKS and the organization of APGVK we also organize many workshops about the benefits of daily yoga and exercise. Experienced trainers also teach various yoga exercises.
The modern youth are often victims of stress and in order to address this, the benefits of yoga and meditation are also taught to young people through discussion Groups. In order to teach the health benefits of cleanliness, many cleaning drives are organized by the initiatives taken by younger people.
Annapurna Haat (অন্নপূর্ণা হাট)
Through this project we also distribute food for free or at highly subsidized rates to the poor, disabled, or unemployed people of the region. In the past few years, due to repeated natural disasters and the global pandemic, we have tried to help the homeless, starving and helpless people. After Amphan or Yash, in the water logged areas of Uluberia, Phuleshwar and Chengail, we have distributed tents, drinking water, dry food items, baby food, and various other items. In the covid times, we have organized breakfast and lunch distribution in Phuleshwar bus stand, Bauria. Over a hundred under privileged people were given free food every day at this place. Besides this, in Bauria, we have subsidized food markets. Here we sell food at highly subsidized rates to poor people. For a week we maintained this market and hundreds of people traded in it
Kriti Samvardhana (কৃতী সম্বর্ধনা)
With the initiative of APGVK, a special activity is organized by us throughout the year which is the Kriti Nagarik Samman. Throughout the Howrah district, specially talented people who have not been able to reach the limelight, who have not received much help in their path, who are not well known even in their own neighborhoods, such people, talented in their own fields, are honoured with laurels, given cooperation, and are made more familiar and famous in their areas. In remote areas of this district there are many people who have started from scratch and established their own businesses. We have honoured their endeavours and upheld them as examples to follow, for our younger generations. There are many people who are physically differently abled but who have reached great heights in their professional and educational fields, we have honoured them as well and we have tried to make them better known among the common people.
Aranyak (আরণ্যক)
In order to spread more awareness about the importance of tree plantation, various eminent persons of the region are called to preside over tree plantation activities, weeding of forested areas, slogan writing, poster making by children, and various other such activities throughout the year. Besides this, two online lectures have been organized regarding the ecology and environment of the present day.Besides this, in Bauria, we have subsidized food markets.
Here we sell food at highly subsidized rates to poor people. For a week we maintained this market and hundreds of people traded in it
Sandhikhan (সন্ধিক্ষণ)
Mental and health related issues in adolescence period is increasing day by day.AGVK took up the issue and organise various adolescence health awareness camps in different school specially for the students of 10-19 years age group. As girl student’s and boys student’s adolescence centric issues are different so we organised separate camps for them by experienced counsellors. We also list out names of those students who are facing serious issues and made appointments of specialist doctors for them.
Till date we covered more than 1200 students of Howarh and nearby districts.
Suchetona (সুচেতনা)
Through this project we provide legal aid and general legal awareness to deprived the women. We used to organise meetings by experienced advocates with those womens who need legal aid in anyway but doesn’t defray the cost. Domestic violence, property right of women are some of the issues about which we organise several conferences time to time.
Monogya (মনজ্ঞ)
AGVK also observe different important dates, birth anniversary of eminent personalities and organise seminars on issues of national interest throughout the year. This year we organised a panel discussion by eminent personalities of education sector on Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s birth anniversary. Book launching program, observance of Azadi ka Amrit mahotsav, football distribution and seminar on Khelega India. A special program was held at famous Kala mandir auditorium to felicitate renowned personalities of different sectors e.g.- medical, law, education, media, music,. theatre etc.under the presidentship of Rajyasabha MP Shri J.P. Nadda ji.
Shaksham (সক্ষম)
By this unique project we are continuously trying to spread the opportunity for those who are capable but legs resources. As Bengali is very rich in handicraft so we grap the opportunity of Central governments One station one product scheme. Through this outlet in different stations many artisans and craftsmens sold their product and made profit. We organised job fair on huge scale in different times. Will established companies enterprises e.g. State fishery department, SIS, PMKVY used to come to our camps through detailed interview many capable young persons get their desired job. We also held meetings and conferences with MSME department for those who see help in term of loan scheme guidance in small scale industry.
Adolescence Camp (কৈশর শিবির )
In the year 2022 our focus line is Adolescence health along with other works. As we know that mental and physical health of adolescence is not very much discussed in our society but it is the period of turbulence in anyone’s life. FAGVK took up the issue one year back and didi several Adolescence health awareness camps in different schools. Till the date we have covered almost 1200 students.As the issues are different for girls and boys. So we have done camps seperately for girls and boys. We have teamed up with child specialists, psychologists, psychiatrists and councillors. We have also pointed out the students who have some serious season and should immediately be treated. We send them to the needed specialist and following them for the updates.
